In the course of our business activities and the provision of due diligence and strategic advisory services to our clients, personal data we collect may include:

  • your address, phone number, email address and other contact details;

  • your job function and title and details of your career; or

  • personal information provided to us in the course of communications or transactions with us or the company you work for.


Where we collect this personal data

We may collect personal data about you:

  • directly from you (including when you subscribe to marketing communications);

  • from an agent/third party acting on your behalf e.g. lawyer, trustee or fiduciary;

  • from information vendors e.g. Factiva, BoardEx, Pitchbook, Preqin;

  • through publicly available sources e.g. LinkedIn, Google, Companies House; and

  • through references or by word of mouth e.g. you may be referred to us by a current or former colleague or employer or a personal acquaintance.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Where we store your personal data

All data held by GMTL is stored on secure cloud servers managed by our IT provider. These servers and service providers are physically located within the UK and are required to comply with The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and conduct regular reviews to ensure ongoing compliance. Where, if necessary for the completion of an assignment, your personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to a country that is not subject to equivalent data protection laws we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that security measures and approved model clauses are in place to protect your personal data.

How long we hold your personal data

We will keep your personal data for as long as is necessary for us to use your information as set out above or to comply with our legal obligations. Please be advised that we may retain some of your information after you cease to use our services. For example, we are required to keep accounting records and contracts for a period of six (6) years.

  • The right to be given a copy of the personal data about you held by us;

  • The right to rectification of the personal data about you held by us;

  • The right to erasure of the personal data about you held by us;

  • The right to restrict our use of the personal data about you held by us;
